DECEMBER 13TH 2008, INAUGURAL PHUSIKOI EVENT.

On December 13th, 2008, the first Phusikoi event took place in the School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The day began at 1pm with professor Gino Yu speaking about the origin of the original Phusikoi and the roots of the study of awareness.

This was followed by Tanya Kaps promoting her consciousness and awareness documentary titled "The Making of Being". Concurrently one of our film rooms screened TED talks concerning environmental issues, while the other screened the documentary "The Century of the Self" by Adam Curtis. Lorraine Justice (Director of the School of Design) spoke about managing creativity, and then Bobsy (founder of Life Cafe) spoke about his campaign "SAVE THE HUMAN". An episode of "BRAIN STORY" screened, while Miranda Kaur spoke about trusting intuitions and achieving goals. Film-maker Mani Gyanu spoke about her film "Dances in Hong Kong" which was then followed by drumming leader Kumi Masunaga about the art of drumming. "Zeitgeist: Addendum" was screened, and the evening included an enjoyable drumming session out on a university lawn.

This was followed by a yoga, yoga nidra and kirtan session, while Mani Goel's "Dances in Hong Kong" was screened in another room. An Intentional tribal belly dance by All Theatre Art Association with Maggie Blue, Oxana Banshikova and Suzette Ackermann about human evolution was also performed. An online video of the performance can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFmuxsPUpRw

The event came to a close with a rave, music mixed by DJ Chata.
